MEET ALAINA

Hi, I’m Alaina - a photographer based out of the Metro-Detroit area. I attended Bowling Green State University for Film Production and received my Bachelor of Arts in the spring of 2021. I officially opened my first business in freelance film & commercials shortly after graduating. In late-2022 I decided I wanted to put more focus on my love for photography as well, thus creating Alaina Miller Photography. I got my first camera for my 13th birthday. Looking back on my youth, the love for still work was always there, waiting for me to return to it. Now here we are!

My goal is to capture genuine moments between couples, families & individuals that feel true to their stories and identity. I am all about those candid, tender, & sometimes chaotic moments that make you, you.

My mission is to capture & deliver an artful, cohesive gallery through my own unique & creative eye that captures your authentic selves in this exact moment of your lives - because you deserve more than just the traditional smiling-at-the-camera photos . (Don’t worry, we’ll still get a few of those too!)

leave no trace

Alaina Miller Photography practices the 7 Leave No Trace principals at every photo session or event. This means I will be planning ahead (always), cleaning up any mess made at our session, leaving all nature in nature, and being considerate of others and wildlife. We believe that it is important to protect our Earth - it’s the only one we’ve got!

No matter who you are, who you love, your abilities, or where you are from, you are welcomed and loved here in our corner of the internet. This is a safe space to express your authentic selves, your love, and milestones as they are captured on camera. No judgement, ever. It is our pledge to stand for love not hate.

collaboration & authenticity

Every couple, family and person is unique. It is our goal to capture that individuality through observation, collaboration, and never asking you to try out any prompts or poses that do not represent you. Getting to know you before our session is extremely important to me, so that at our session, we feel like fast friends!
